Ms. Kelly’s Cherry Puff Pudding
This cherry pudding recipe seems unique. It is an individual dessert made in jelly glasses. If you aren’t familiar with jelly glasses, they hold roughly 4 ounces. I think this recipe would be a very cute dessert. The recipe also says that any fruit can be used for this.
Cherry Pudding Recipe
One and one-half of flour, 1 ½ teaspoonful of baking powder, a little salt. Mix with enough of milk to make a light paste. Take jelly glasses and grease with lard, put in a tablespoonful of cherries in the bottom of the glass, drop a tablespoonful of the paste, add another spoon of cherries and another of the paste.
Put in a steamer and steam one hour. When done the pudding will be puffed up above the glasses; remove same and serve hot with the following sauce: (This pudding can be made with any kind of fruit.)
A teaspoon of flour, a large piece of butter, 3 tablespoons of sugar, mix together and add 1 pint of boiling water, and let same cook a few minutes. When done add 3 tablespoons of thick cream and flavor with a little vanilla or cherry juice; serve hot.

- milk enough to make a paste
- cherries enough to fill jars
- 1 tsp flour
- 1 tbsp butter
- 3 tbps sugar
- 2 cups water boiling
- 3 tbsp cream
- 1 tsp vanilla
